ABOUT

The World Health Organization strives to protect and promote public health within the United Nations. Initially founded in 1948 to help with the spread of disease, the World Health Organization has since expanded and is dedicated to providing safety and proper health services, especially for those in vulnerable positions. WHO has created several initiatives to combat health-related and safety crises in our world and the effects have led to great improvement in health systems and well-being. Currently, WHO aims to continue making improvements in health systems globally, educating the public on health, promoting equity in health, and further aiding those in need. Especially in zones of conflict, receiving healthcare is of utmost importance, but is difficult to attain.

Ila Lu

Ila Lu is an 8th grader at Evergreen Middle School and is overjoyed to be serving as the co-director of WHO at EverMUN 2024! Ever since her first MUN conference in 6th grade, Ila has loved every moment of MUN, from the research to the debate process, and especially the chaos that always comes with it! When she is not drowning in heaps of language arts and social studies homework, Ila spends time playing the cello, crocheting, reading, or baking. Ila looks forward to meeting all the new delegates, and hopes they have a wonderful experience at EverMUN 2024!

Yogitha Sathish Kumar

Yogitha is a sophomore at Eastlake High School and is delighted to be serving as co-director of WHO for EverMUN 2024. She started her MUN journey two years ago, initially afraid to speak in committee to being confident in public speaking and forming meaningful friendships from MUN. Outside of MUN, you can find Yogitha playing the flute or sleeping soundly. She is so excited to welcome delegates to WHO and make it the best committee yet!
